Configuring a Board for Line Routing

Top  Previous  Next

To configure line routing options for a fax board, click the Routing tab of the device Properties dialog box.

To define line or channel routing for the device, check the 'Enable line routing' option and associate the device with a FACSys user or user group.

To associate the device or channel with a particular FACSys user/group, click the Modify button and select the FACSys user/group from the list. When a fax is received on the line, it will be routed to the associated user/group. If there is no association for the line, then the fax will appear in the "Unrouted" folder of the user(s) responsible for routing unassigned faxes.

The 'Override other routing methods' option instructs FACSys to ignore any other routing methods you may have defined, such as DID/DNIS, DTMF, and T.33 sub-addressing.

NOTE:If all other routing options fail (e.g., FACSys cannot route an inbound fax according to DID/DNIS, DTMF or CSI), then FACSys will use the line routing options you define here.

Auto-Printing Inbound Faxes

To route all faxes received on this channel to a network printer, you must do the following:

1.Create a FACSys user profile configured to receive inbound faxes on a network printer. For instructions on creating a user profile.
2.Configure the device for line routing and associate the line with the FACSys user account you created in the step above.

NOTE:For auto-printing to be successful, the Windows user account associated with the FACSys Server service must have the following:
The Windows  account must have appropriate rights to print to the network print queue you define.
If the printer is connected to a domain, the Windows  account must be defined as a domain user.
If the network print queue you define resides on a NetWare server, you must also create a NetWare user account having the same name and password as this Windows account.
