To instruct FACSys to route a user's inbound faxes to their email Inbox, display the user's Profile Properties dialog box and click the Routing tab. Define the Mail Information fields.

If you enable and define these mail options, FACSys will route the user's inbound faxes to the email account in addition to listing the faxes in the user's FACSys Desktop Inbox folder. The user's inbound faxes will be accessible as file attachments in email messages.

NOTE:Don't forget to select the "Enable inbound routing services" option on the General tab.

In the Gateway field, define the email gateway through which FACSys will communicate. To select a Gateway from the list of defined FACSys gateways on the current fax server, click the Modify button. To clear the current Gateway name from the field, click the Clear button.

In the Attachment field, select the format into which the inbound fax files should be converted (none, TIF or DCX). Select an image format associated with an application to which the user has access. All faxes received by the user will be converted to the selected file format. The user must have the ability to "open" the attachment. The 'None' selection will exclude the attachment from the message.

In the Mail Address field, specify the mail address to which the user's inbound faxes should be sent. Use the syntax required by the mail gateway transport. Consider the following table:

Transport

Syntax

Lotus cc:Mail

User_Full_Name

Lotus Notes

User_Full_Name_Mailbox

MS-Mail

Network/Postoffice/User's_Mail_Account

Novell GroupWise

User_Name

Novell MHS

User_Name@Host

MS-Exchange

Standard X400/SMTP addresses or Exchange Alias names. Refer to your FACSys Fax Connector documentation for more information on address proxies.

SAP/R3

NOTES:

If you leave the Mail Address field blank, FACSys will attempt to find the user's mailbox via the user's FACSys logon name and full name.
