To import fax server data from an external ASCII file, choose the Tools|Import command and follow the instructions in the Import wizard.
| NOTE: | Before you import data from a text file, try exporting data from FACSys. Look at the resulting ASCII file to see how the import file must be structured. |
When you are importing data from an external file, the file must be structured as follows:
| • | Your import file must be in ASCII format, where each field is separated by a comma delimiter. |
| • | The first row of the file must contain the file's header information. FACSys will read the header, count the delimiters, and determine the expected number of fields. |
| • | Quotes surrounding the import fields are only required when there is a comma included within a field. For example, " Your Software Company, Inc." requires surrounding quotes to be read as a single field. |
| • | FACSys will strip out any leading or trailing spaces in a field. |
