About Fax Devices

FACSys incorporates a FACSys Device Service Provider Interface (DSPI) component that communicates directly with manufacturer supplied device drivers. The DSPI interface greatly simplifies the installation and configuration of fax devices for use with FACSys, and provides a greater support mechanism for troubleshooting fax issues.  
 
Before installing the FACSys software, you must install and configure your fax hardware using the utilities and instructions provided by the hardware manufacturer.  
 
To identify a board within FACSys, you must add the fax device to your FACSys configuration.

For details on a board's installation and settings, refer to the board manufacturer's manual.

After you configure a device from within FACSys, you should re-start your fax server to eliminate any potential device conflicts.
