When a user requests access to the fax server, FACSys attempts to authenticate the user's logon using the alias name and password used to logon to Windows. To restrict access to the fax server to only those users that can be authenticated by their Windows logon information, enable the authentication option on the server Properties Logon tab.

Logon Security
 

Only allow authenticated users to access this server - Enabling this option restricts access to the fax server to only those users that can be authenticated by their Windows Logon information.

If the option is selected, users will not be given an opportunity to enter another password if FACSys cannot authenticate their logon. If authentication does not occur, the user will not be granted access to the fax server.

 

If this option is NOT selected and FACSys cannot authenticate a user's logon, FACSys will display the Enter Password window, giving the user an opportunity to enter the password of their administrative FACSys account.
