8.If you plan to do document attachment rendering testing:
a.Install Out-Side In™ if you do not intend to install applications.
b.Install MS-Office Word, Excel, PPT and Visio if you intend to test WORD, RTF, HTML, XLS, PPT and VSD application rendering as attachments with server-side rendering activated. We have tested with Office 2003 only.
c.Install the HPCL-PS Renderer for SAP type files such as HPCL attachments and PS Level I and Level II.
d.Download http://www.ghostscript.com/doc/GPL/ and Install Ghostscript if you need to test PDF, PS Level III and IV (the HPCL-PS Renderer can't convertType III and Type IV PS files, but GS can't handle HPCL files).
e.Install Adobe 7.0 or higher – full product if you want (should no longer be required) because if Ghostscript is installed it should handle PDF and PS Levels I-IV.
Note the registry change required for Ghostscript.

Rendering PDF files with Ghostscript

Starting with FACSys 4.91, it is possible to have the FACSys server use the external GhostScript
application for rendering PostScript and PDF files. Here's the procedure for enabling this feature:

Download and install the most recent version of GhostScript
. There are various places on Internet where it can be obtained. Alternately, you can use this URL for downloading from our web site: http://download.emfast.com/utils/GhostScript.zip

Also, you need to update some FACSys files. The updates can be downloaded from here http://download.emfast.com/utils/491_pdfrender_gs.zip
.
To install these files:

- stop all the FACSys services and close the Desktop client from the System Tray
- replace C:\FACSys\faxmngr.exe with the one included in the ZIP file
- replace the C:\Windows\System32\imglib32.dll and C:\Windows\System32\FxPrinter.dll with the ones included in the ZIP file
- edit the following registry key HKLM\Software\FACSys\ImageLibrary\ShellFlags and add 40 hexadecimal to the current value. For example if the ShellFlags are 0, make it 40 hexadecimal, if the ShellFlags are 8, then make it 48 hexadecimal and so on.
- start all the FACSys services and test

The Installer Creates and configures a FACSys Document Printer on the fax server used for rendering file attachments. The printer is configured automatically to output to the FXS: port using a custom FACSys fax print driver.

Note:
Windows 2003 changed the permissible printer port naming conventions to a three character label, the FACSys printer ports are now:
·FXS: Port for the 'FACSys Document Printer' described as the 'FACSys Fax Port' and created by the server installation.
·FXC: Port for the 'FACSys Fax Printer' described as 'FACSys Port' and created by the Client Desktop installation.
·FXQ: for the embedded printer queue port created by the optional FACSys Embedded Code Printer Driver installation.
