About Fax Devices

Facsys incorporates a Facsys Device Service Provider Interface (DSPI) component that communicates directly with manufacturer-supplied device drivers. The DSPI interface greatly simplifies the installation and configuration of fax devices for use with Facsys, and provides a greater support mechanism for troubleshooting fax issues.

Before installing the Facsys software, the fax hardware must be installed and configured using the utilities and instructions provided by the hardware manufacturer.

To identify a board within Facsys, it must be added to the Facsys Administrator, in the Devices area.

NOTES ON FAX DEVICES:

• For details on a board's installation and settings, refer to the board manufacturer's manual. 
  
  
• After the device is configured within Facsys, the fax server should be restarted, to eliminate any potential device conflicts.
