Facsys can be integrated with Windows Active Directory in one of two ways:
- Windows users can be created in AD, placed into a group in AD and that group can be used to import users from AD into Facsys.
- The Active Directory Schema can be extended.
- Active Directory Integration is enabled on this server – Enabling this option will allow users within Windows Active directory to be replicated to Facsys.
Type of Integration
To integrate Facsys and Windows AD, there are two methods. The first one imports the users from within an AD Group into the Facsys Users. The second method extends the AD schema.
- Facsys Users are part of the following Active directory group - used to import users from an AD Group into Facsys. By using the … button, the AD group can be chosen.
- Active Directory Schema has been extended - used to extend the AD schema.
Options
- Alias Type - Using the down arrow on the right of the text box, the Facsys Administrator can define what property (within the AD) will be used as the Alias within Facsys. The Alias is used by the Facsys users to log into the Facsys Server to send/receive faxes.
- Time Interval - Using this option, the synchronization time between the Active Directory and Facsys can be set.
Synchronization
- Synchronization will happen periodically based on changes occurring in the Active Directory - synchronization between AD and Facsys can be forced by pressing the Sync Now button.
