New fax device(s) default to the off-line state. In order for the FACSys fax server to respond to and manage job requests for the device, the device must be configured and place "on-line".  Because the new device is not configured, the CSI column is left blank in the Devices folder.

Device Information

Device Name: This name defaults to the model of Fax Board that was installed.  It can be over-ridden, but this is not recommended.

CSI:  Each port can be assigned a different CSI.   A board's CSI (call subscriber ID or customer subscriber identification) usually represents the fax number that the board will be servicing.

Device Mode:

Device is on-line and enabled for operation: New fax device(s) default to the off-line state. An on-line device can send faxes, receive faxes or do both. If this option is not enabled, the device will not send or receive faxes.

Allow outgoing faxes on this device:  Enabling this option allows outgoing faxes to be processed by this port.

Allow incoming faxes on this devices: Enabling this option allows incoming faxes to be processed by this port.

When an incoming call is detected, answer the line after ### rings. - This number tells the device to wait for a specified number of rings before accepting the incoming fax message.

Caution(s):

Many fax boards have multiple channels. FACSys refers to the device that owns the subordinate channels as the "root" device. If a fax device that has multiple channels has been added, then the root device and all subordinate channels are added to the Devices folder. Each root and channel device may be configured separately..
Multiple channels can be selected and configured together.
If you set the option 'answer the line after xx rings' to 0, the device will not receive incoming faxes.
No outgoing calls can be placed on a DID trunk. If using the device for DID routing, the option 'Allow outgoing faxes on this device' should be disabled
