Advanced fax board configuration options include speed settings, dialing settings, and several additional options specific to the capabilities of each modem. To define the properties for a fax device, select the device listed in the Devices folder and click the Properties toolbar button.

To define or modify advanced settings for the fax device, click the Advanced tab in the device Properties dialog box.

Device Communications

  • Modem Speed: The Modem Speed is the speed at which the device operates and reflects the speed at which the fax files will be transmitted.

  • Host Speed: The Host Speed option is only available for serial modems and reflects the speed at which the PC will communicate with the fax board.  For serial fax devices (Class 1, 2, 2.0), the Host Speed must be faster than the Modem Speed. A Host Speed that is at least two times the Modem Speed should be selected (ie. if the Modem Speed is 9600, then choose a Host Speed of 19200. If the Modem Speed is 14400, then choose a Host Speed of 38400)

Solgenia will NOT support Class 1, 2, 2.0 modems in Production environments.

The Device Settings defined are specific to the capabilities of the device. Refer to the manufacturer's documentation for detailed specification.
