The permissions available in a FACSys user or group profile are defined as follows:
User Permissions
Administer and configure server – enabling this, gives the user the ability to administer every aspect of the FACSys server. WARNING: If this option is selected, all users created after this option will be able to administer the FACSys server.
Schedule faxes with higher than normal priority - Enables users to send faxes with Normal, High or Urgent Priority codes.
Change logon password - Enabling this option gives the user the ability to change their FACSys password (not their NT password) from the FACSys Desktop. This is the default selection.
Route unread faxes to others – Enabling this option gives the user the ability to forward unread faxes to other FACSys users.
Delete fax messages - If this is enabled, the user can delete any of his/her fax messages.
Select cover page - Enabling this option gives the user the ability to select a personal or shared cover page when scheduling outbound faxes.
Phonebooks
There are two types of phonebooks – personal phonebooks and system phonebooks. Personal Phonebooks are specific to a particular user. System phonebooks, also called shared phonebooks, can be used by all FACSys users
Create system phonebooks - Enabling this option allows the user to create shared FACSys phonebooks.
Delete system phonebooks - Enabling this option allows the user to delete shared FACSys phonebooks. Users who are not given this right can still delete their own personal phonebooks.
Add recipients to system phonebooks - Enabling this option gives a user the ability to add recipient entries to shared FACSys phonebooks. Users who are not given this right can still add recipients to their own personal FACSys phonebook.
Modify recipients in system phonebooks - Enabling this option gives a user the ability to modify the recipient entries in shared FACSys phonebooks. Users who are not given this right can still modify the recipient information in their own personal FACSys phonebook.
Cover Pages
There are two types of cover pages – personal cover pages and system cover pages. Personal cover pages are specific to a particular user. System cover pages, also called shared cover pages, can be used by all FACSys users
Create system cover pages - Enabling this option gives a user the ability to create shared FACSys cover pages. Users who are not given this right can still create their own personal FACSys cover pages.
Delete system cover pages - Enabling this option gives a user the ability to delete shared FACSys cover pages. Users who are not given this right can still delete their own personal FACSys cover pages.
Modify information in system cover pages - Enabling this option gives a user the ability to modify shared FACSys cover pages. Users who are not given this right can still modify their own personal FACSys cover pages.
Can access server folders (Inbox, Outbox, Sent Items) - Enabling this option causes the Server Inbox, Server Outbox, and Server Sent Items folders to be displayed on a users FACSys Desktop folder list.
Send receipt when using remote service provider - Enabling this option causes a delivery notification to be generated for every fax message that a user sends via a remote service provider. Some companies, instead of having a fax board installed in their server, rely on the service of a service provider (e.g, an ISP). When enabled, a receipt that indicates the delivery status of the user's fax messages is generated by the external provider. This functionality must be supported by the external service provider.
Blocked numbers and inclusion lists
Blocked numbers are fax numbers that CANNOT have faxes sent to them. (Unless they are overridden by group/user permissions)
Fax numbers listed in the Inclusion lists are fax numbers that CAN have faxes sent to them (Unless they are overridden by group/user permissions)
Allow the user to override settings for blocked numbers – if a fax number is listed in the blocked numbers list, and a user is given the permission to override settings for blocked numbers, that user will be able to send a fax to the blocked fax number.
Allow the user to override settings for inclusion list - if a fax number is listed in the inclusion numbers list, and a user is given the permission to override settings for inclusion lists, that user will be able to send a fax to the number not listed in the inclusion list.
Restrictions
Requires approval by assigned manager when sending faxes - Enabling this option forces the user's outbound faxes to be approved by their Manager (or manager group). Their manager would be identified on the User's General Tab.
Cannot exceed broadcast restrictions - Enabling this option will prohibit a user from sending a fax that has more destinations than the broadcast limit defined for the fax server (in the Server's Properties, Options tab).
Can send during off-peak hours only - Enabling this option will cause ALL faxes from the user to be sent during the off-peak time interval defined for the fax server (in the Server's Properties, Options tab).
This account is disabled and may not logon to this server – rather than deleting a user account, FACSys Administrator's can disable them by choosing this option.
