The FACSys Desktop installation program installs and configures the FACSys Fax Printer automatically. However, you can optionally create a FACSys printer manually or change the driver used by the default printer.
The exact procedures for adding or creating a printer depend on your workstation operating system. Some general guidelines are listed below.
| 1. | Run the Add Printer Wizard from the My Computer group or the Printers applet in Control Panel. |
| 2. | When prompted, select the ‘My Computer’ option to create a local printer. Do not select the network printer options or make this printer a shared printer. |
| 3. | When prompted, configure the printer to print to the FXC or FAXPRINT port. This port should display in your list of Available Ports. |
| NOTE: | If the “FXC” or “FAXPRINT” port is not an available option, the FACSys software installation was not successful and you must re-install the FACSys Desktop. |
| 4. | When prompted to select the printer manufacturer, click the Have Disk button. Browse to the FACSys Desktop\Printers sub-directory and select the .INF file in this directory. |
| 5. | When prompted, enter a printer name that identifies the new FACSys printer. For example, you might enter the name “FACSys Fax Printer.” |
| 6. | When prompted, do not make this a shared printer. |
