Managing Unrouted Faxes

Top  Previous  Next

If FACSys cannot determine the owner of an inbound fax via an automated routing method (e.g., DID, DMF), then the fax is routed to the FACSys user having the permission to "Route unread faxes to others." If you have been assigned this permission, you are responsible for determining the owners of inbound faxes and routing the fax messages appropriately.

NOTE:The Unrouted folder is listed in your FACSys Desktop folder tree only if you are a FACSys Administrator or if you have permission to "Route unread faxes to others."

To identify and route unrouted faxes:

1.Open the fax message listed in your Unrouted folder.

FACSys displays the fax image in the Received Fax From window as a "read-only" file.

FACSys Administrators are able to view all pages of the fax image. All other FACSys managers can view only the first page of the unrouted fax. Furthermore, you cannot print, save, forward or open the file for editing.

2.From the message window, choose the File|Route Message command.

FACSys displays the Route Received Fax dialog box and lists all FACSys users on your current fax server.

3.Highlight the owner of the fax, and click the OK button.

The selected fax is removed from your FACSys Unrouted folder and routed to the Inbox of the FACSys user you selected.
