By default, the FACSys Desktop is installed in the Windows startup group and launches as a background process when you start Windows. As a result, a FACSys Desktop icon is displayed on your Windows taskbar in the system tray area.
While the FACSys Desktop icon is in your Windows system tray, the FACSys Desktop application is running in the background and is available for processing fax events and communicating with your preferred fax server.
When you right-click on the FACSys Desktop tray icon, the FACSys program menu is displayed. Choose the commands on this menu to do the following:
| • | Open FACSys Desktop - Choose this command to open the FACSys Desktop application. This action also occurs when you double-click on the tray icon. |
| • | Create Fax Message - Choose this command to display the New Fax Message window in which you define and send a new fax. |
| • | Options - Choose this command to display the Options dialog box in which you define the settings that affect your default FACSys fax server connection and default FACSys Desktop options. |
| • | Close - Choose this command to end the FACSys Desktop process and remove the tray icon from the Windows taskbar. When you remove the FACSys Desktop icon from the taskbar, your background connection to the fax server is terminated. To send faxes from your desktop, you must first restore the connection by logging onto the FACSys server. |
