Connecting to Another FACSys Fax Server
Previous  Top  Next

In a multi-fax server environment, you must first connect to a desired fax server before you perform many of the procedures throughout this help system.

For example, assume that your organization has two fax servers: Server1, which is dedicated for mass broadcasting, and Server2, which is used for smaller fax jobs. Before you fax your press release to your list of 250 press contacts, you must connect to Server1. Before you fax a letter to your boss, you must connect to Server2.

To connect to another FACSys fax server, choose the File | Log Off command. The FACSys Logon dialog box displays prompting you (or another user) to log onto another fax server.

In the FACSys Logon dialog box, enter your FACSys name and password. Then enter the name of the fax server to which you want to connect. To connect to the selected server, the computer must be a properly configured FACSys fax server and you must have access to the fax server.

When you click the OK button to continue, the FACSys Desktop will establish a connection with the fax server.

NOTE:If you click the Cancel button instead of the OK button, you will break the connection to the current fax server and exit the FACSys Desktop program.

After you connect to another fax server, note the following changes in your FACSys environment:

·Your outbound faxes will be handled by the new fax server.

·The faxes listed in your Inbox and Outbox folders will be updated to reflect your fax files on the new fax server.

·You have access to the cover page files and phonebooks located on the new fax server.
