Creating a Cover Page

Another TIP: Avoid the use of VERTICAL lines on your fax pages. They transmit slower. Horizontal lines are ok. This is because vertical lines, like in a table, defeat the CCITT Group III bit stuffing compression techniques used in fax transmissions.

To use the FACSys Cover Page Editor to create a new cover page:

1.From the FACSys Desktop, choose the File | New | Cover Page command.
FACSys launches the Cover Page Editor application, which you use to create your cover page.

2.Design your new cover page. The Cover Page Editor is discussed in detail in the following section.

3.To save your cover page, choose the Save command from the Cover Page Editor's File menu.
If you have not assigned a title to the cover page before you saved the file, the Cover Page Editor displays the Set Title dialog box.

4.In the Set Title dialog box, enter a cover page title and click OK.
The title is assigned to the cover page file and displays in the title bar of the Cover Page Editor.

5.To close the Cover Page Editor, choose the Exit command from the File menu.
FACSys closes the Cover Page Editor and then displays the New Cover Page dialog box.

6.Define the cover page properties.
In the Name field, FACSys displays the cover page title you entered in the Set Title dialog box. Make any necessary changes to the name.

To make this a shared cover page available to all FACSys users on your current fax server, enable the 'Shared Cover Page' option.

NOTE:After you create a cover page, you cannot change its "type." For example, you cannot change a personal cover page into a shared cover page.

7.To close the Cover Page Properties dialog box, click the OK button.
Your cover page is added to your FACSys Desktop Cover Pages folder.

NOTE:All FACSys cover pages are maintained at the fax server. You cannot save or maintain a FACSys cover page on your local workstation.
