About Cover Pages and the FACSys Cover Page Editor

Top  Previous  Next

When a cover page is included with an outgoing fax message, FACSys adds the cover page to the beginning of the fax. Cover pages are generally used to identify the sender and/or the recipient of the fax.

FACSys supports both shared and personal fax cover pages. If a user has the 'Select Cover Page' permission enabled in their FACSys user profile, then he/she can define personal fax cover pages. Similarly, if a user has the 'Create system cover pages' permission enabled in their FACSys user profile, then they can define system cover pages to be shared by all FACSys users on the fax server.

FACSys supports two types of default cover pages:

A fax server's default cover page is sent with all outbound faxes originated from users that do not have the appropriate permission to select their own cover page. The FACSys Administrator is responsible for defining the default fax cover page for a FACSys server.

Your default cover page is the cover page that is selected to send with all outbound faxes. The FACSys administrator can assign a default cover page in a FACSys user profile. If a user has been given permission to select their own cover page, then they can override this setting. A user's personal default cover page takes priority over the default cover page defined for a fax server.

About the FACSys Cover Page Editor

The Cover Page Editor is integrated within FACSys but can also be launched as a separate application. The Cover Page Editor program (FXCPE32.EXE) is copied to the FACSys Desktop Client program directory when the FACSys Desktop software is installed.

If launching the Cover Page Editor from outside of FACSys, and using it to create a new cover page, this cover page must be imported into FACSys before it can be used.

All cover pages created with the Cover Page Editor have a ".lgo" file extension. Only files with the .lgo extention can be imported and exported from FACSys.  If a cover page is created with another extention (ie .doc) the cover page must be re-created with the FACSys Cover Page Editor using it's text and graphics tools.
