1. Select the object to be changed.
When the object is selected, handles surround it. At this point, a 'floating menu' can be display by right-clicking on the object. The floating menu that displays depends on the type of object selected.
Notice that the floating menu for a drawn object lists the Properties command. When this is selected, a Properties dialog box is displayed. The properties that can be changed for a drawing object are:
- Line - thickness; color
- Rectangle - thickness and color for the border/line; transparency or color for the background
- Ellipse - thickness and color for the border/line; transparency or color for the background
The floating menu for an imported graphic lists the Size to Scale option. When this option is selected, the height-to-width aspect ratio of the graphic is maintained as the graphic is resized.
2. Make changes to the object.
The changes that can be made will include:
- modifying the properties of a drawn object
- cutting the object and placing it into the Windows clipboard
- copying the object for use elsewhere
- deleting the object from your cover page
- positioning relative to other objects
- centering the object either horizontally or vertically on your cover page
- resizing the object by dragging its handles
