Editing the Fax Image

Top

When you open a fax file you have received, FACSys displays the fax image in the Received Fax From window as a "read-only" file. The "read-only" features of the Received Fax From window are identical to those in the FACSys Fax Viewer window. For example, using identical toolbar buttons or menu commands, you can view the pages of the fax and change the image display  (zoom, rotate, or flip). However, by opening the image in the FACSys Fax Viewer or another image editing application, you can modify the fax image directly. For example, using the FACSys Fax Viewer you can add text annotations and graphics to the image, invert or clean the image, and even highlight parts of the image.

To open the fax in the FACSys Fax Viewer or other image editing application, choose the File|Open File for Editing command.

When you choose the File|Open File for Editing command, FACSys queries the file associations defined in your Windows configuration and displays the fax image in the viewing application associated with the file's extension. For example, if the .TIF file extension is associated with the FACSys Fax Viewer, then FACSys will launch its viewing application when you request to open a .TIF fax image file.

NOTE:When you install the FACSys Desktop, you are prompted to associate the image file extensions .TIF and .DCX with the FACSys Fax Viewer.
