Managing Unrouted Faxes

If Facsys cannot determine the owner of an inbound fax via an automated routing method (e.g., DID, DMF), then the fax is routed to the Facsys user having the permission to "Route unread faxes to others." If a user has been assigned this permission, they are responsible for determining the appropriate owner(s) of these inbound faxes and manually routing the fax messages appropriately.

NOTE: The Unrouted folder will be listed in the Facsys Desktop folder tree for the Facsys Administrator account and for any user with the "Route Unread faxes to others" permission.

To identify and route unrouted faxes:

  1. Open the fax message listed in the Unrouted folder.
Facsys displays the fax image in the Received Fax From window as a "read-only" file. Facsys Administrators are able to view all pages of the fax image. All other Facsys managers can view only the first page of the unrouted fax. Furthermore, these files cannot be printed, saved, forwarded or opened for editing.

  2. From the message window, choose the File | Route Message command.
Facsys displays the Route Received Fax dialog box and lists all Facsys users on the current fax server.

  3. Highlight the appropriate owner(s) of the fax, and click the OK button.
The selected fax is removed from the Facsys Unrouted folder and routed to the Inbox of the Facsys user selected.
