To display the Options dialog box, choose the Facsys Desktop Tools | Options command.
On the Sending tab of the Options dialog box, define several default settings to be applied to new fax messages.
- When creating a new message - From each drop-down list, select the default attributes that are to be applied to each outgoing fax messages. Any attributes defined here can be over-ridden each time a new fax is created.
The Facsys rendering engine includes many popular fonts. When preparing a fax message, Facsys will render the cover page text using the exact or closest True-Type font selected from the Font drop-down list.
- Check names using these phonebooks - When a new fax is created and a "free-form" name is entered as the fax address, Facsys can be instructed to check the name against all Facsys phonebooks listed here.
The phonebooks are searched in the order listed until a matching name is found. The name entered is searched against the First Name, Last Name, and Display Name fields of the Facsys phonebooks. When a matching name is found, the search on the current phonebook is completed and no subsequent phonebooks are searched.
To add a phonebook to the list, click the Add button. Select a Facsys phonebook and click OK. Use the Move Up/Move Down buttons to change the search order of the phonebooks.
To define advanced options for a new fax messages, click the Advanced Options button on the Sending tab:
- Processing options - Facsys can be instructed to render new fax messages locally at the workstation or at the server. To render the attachments locally, select the 'Render document attachments on local workstation' option.
NOTE: If rendering remotely at the fax server, contact the Facsys Administrator for a list of supported file attachment types.
- Delivery options - When creating faxes by printing from Windows, Facsys can be instructed to use the electronic mail transport. (ie. when 'Use Electronic Mail Transport when printing' is enabled and a user selects the Print command from a windows application, Facsys will launch the local email application and include the printed output file as an attachment in a new mail message. This is referred to throughout this document as "printing-to-email".
To use a default email account name and password logon, enable the 'Use default electronic mail profile' option. If this option is NOT selected, the email application logon prompt will display each time a user chooses to "print-to-email".
- Refresh options - Enable the "refresh" option to update the contents of a user Outbox automatically after a fax is sent.
