Saving Faxes You Have Received

All Facsys fax files and message resources are maintained at the fax server. Faxes can be saved on the local system for future access by other applications. When a fax message is saved, Facsys creates a new file in the format and location specified.  The format and location of the original fax message will remain on the fax server.

NOTE: Using the default and custom folders listed in the Facsys Desktop, faxes can be organized by individuals. When faxes are copied or moved into custom folders in a user's Facsys Desktop, the original fax remains on the fax server. If necessary, contact the Facsys Administrator to find out how long these fax server resources will be maintained on the fax server.

To save a fax message:

1. Highlight the fax message to be saved.
   
   
2. From the File | Save As or select the Save toolbar button.
   Facsys displays the Save As dialog box.
   
   
3. In the Save As dialog box, define the new file parameters.
   Enter a name for the new file, and choose the format in of the fax message (available formats include DCX, PCX, and TIFF Group 3/4). To overwrite an existing file, select a file from the displayed list of file names. To change the target destination, select a drive from the 'Save in' drop-down list. To open a folder or directory, double-click on the folder name.
   
   
4. Click the Save button.
   The fax image file is saved in the format and location defined.
