To send a fax from a Windows application, the Facsys Desktop must be running on the workstation. The Facsys Desktop application can be either open or running as a background process (indicated Facsys Desktop client icon in the System Tray).

To fax an active Windows document, use the File | Print command and select the Facsys Fax Printer. The Facsys Fax Printer will output the document to a print file.

Facsys will then do one of the following, depending on the Delivery Options defined in the Advanced Options window (Tools | Options | Sending tab).

If the option 'Use electronic mail transport when printing' option is selected, the "printed" document will be included as an attachment in a new mail message (users may be prompted to first log into the email application). To fax the message, enter a fax address as the TO: destination address.

Print-to-fax

If the option 'Use electronic mail transport when printing' option is NOT selected, the "printed" document will be included as a file attachment in the New Fax Message window. Define the fax scheduling parameters and click the Send toolbar button to send the fax.
