Internal Image Conversion Errors

If there are problems sending faxes that have file attachments, note the following:

Verify that the file attachment type is supported by the FACSys configuration. Contact the FACSys Administrator for a list of file attachment types supported by the FACSys server.

Verify that the FACSys Printer is configured properly at the workstation or fax server. The FACSys Fax Printer on the workstation must be configured to output to the FXC: or FXC: port. The server-based FACSys Document Printer must be configured to output to the server's FXS: or FACSYS: port. This configuration is fully automated during the FACSys Desktop and FACSys server installation.

An "Error 17 / Invalid Printer" message indicates that the FACSys Printer is not configured properly at the workstation or fax server.
Files that contain macros or external links cannot be attached to a fax message.  This may generate an "Internal Image Conversion" error message.

If attaching a password-protected files or read-only files, the rendering process may prompt a user for a password during this phase.  If rendering is configured to occur at the fax server, rendering these types of files may fail.

Troubleshooting Dialing Issues

If the dial strings are being interpreted incorrectly at the fax server, note the following:

Verify that the fax address is entered correctly.  For information on address syntax.

Verify that the FACSys Administrator has not created any routing rules for the fax server that may affect/modify these dial strings.

Try placing the city/area code in parentheses.

Ask the FACSys Administrator to verify that the fax server's Dialing Configuration has been defined correctly.  Also verify the settings defined in the fax server's Control Panel/Telephony applet.

Cover Page Font Issues

If the correct fonts are not displayed in sent faxes, check the following:

Verify that the FACSys rendering services have access to all required fonts. To install additional fonts for use on fax cover pages rendered at the fax server, use the Windows Control Panel Fonts utility and install the new font files into the server's Windows\Fonts directory.

If "printing to fax," verify that the print driver used by the FACSys Fax Printer is configured to print true type fonts as graphics.
